<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording method capable of improving its direct overwriting characteristics, and to provide an information recording device using the same. <P>SOLUTION: In an information recording method which uses short-pulse light using relaxation oscillation of a semiconductor laser, the direct overwrite characteristics are improved by using light having a cooling pulse driven by a current smaller than the light-emitting threshold current of the semiconductor laser after the last recording pulse of a short pulse train recording a predetermined length of a mark, and further having a boost pulse driven by a current larger than an erase pulse drive current at the head of the erase pulse. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
