摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective liquid crystal display having high efficiency and improved viewing-angle dependency, and to provide a transflective liquid crystal display having high transmissivity for a light state of the display. <P>SOLUTION: The method of forming an optical &lambda;/4 for a transflective liquid crystal display device includes the steps of: depositing a reactive liquid crystal material layer on a substrate; applying a mask which covers a part corresponding to a transmission part of the transflective liquid crystal display device and exposes a part corresponding to a reflection part; subjecting the reactive liquid crystal material layer to first photopolymerizing exposure while holding the reactive liquid crystal material layer at a first temperature; and subjecting the reactive liquid crystal material layer to second photopolymerizing exposure while holding the reactive liquid crystal material layer at a second temperature, one of either the first or the second photopolymerizing exposure being carried out through the mask. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
