<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology can facilitate the trimming and increase the rigidity of an opening end after forming a reinforcing part on the opening end of a clutch component. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The forming method of a cylindrical clutch component with a spline 11 being formed on a cylindrical part of a sheet metal-made workpiece W1 includes: a spline forming step of forming the spline 11 longer than the effective range on the cylindrical part; a reinforcing part forming step of forming an annular flat part substantially flush with a recess and a reinforcing part continuous to each projecting part by pressing the projecting parts of the spline outside the effective range of the cylindrical part in the radial direction by a die 80 and a punch 90; and a cutting step of cutting the flat part while leaving a part of the annular flat part.
