<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such an amber glass composition that amber glass in different shades can be stably and inexpensively produced from one and the same glass composition, and to provide a production method of amber glass by which amber glass in different shades can be stably and inexpensively produced. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The amber glass composition contains, by wt.% in terms of an oxide, 0.06 to 0.12% of SO<SB>3</SB>, 0.2 to 0.35% of iron oxide (in terms of Fe<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>), 0.01 to 0.05% of copper oxide (in terms of CuO), and 0.05 to 0.3% of tin oxide (in terms of SnO), with CuO/SnO (weight ratio) ranging from 0.1 to 0.4.
