<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cylinder expanding type contact pressure calibration method used as a reference for accuracy and reproducibility of values in measuring contact pressure of soft stuff or curved surface such as restraint pressure to living body, body pressure to bed or chair, garment wearing pressure, etc. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this calibration method, a membrane 1 under deflected condition is located inside the cylindrical elastic sample 7. When the inside of the sample 7 is cylindrically-expanded by air pressurization to be predetermined outer diameter, a measurement value A of its inside pressure is read. Then pressure-receiving sensor 9 is mounted on the cylinder 10 of the specific curved surface to read actual measurement value C of contact pressure. Thus measuring error or reproducibility can be checked from difference between the inside pressure measurement value A and the actual measurement value C of contact pressure through the above calibration method. In addition, it may be possible even if hardness of the cylinder 7 of the specific curved surface is flexible, so these shall be defined as each calibration point on the specific curved surface under several conditions.
