<p>A current instruction value calculation unit (25) includes an accumulation control calculation unit (28). The accumulation control calculation unit (28) calculates a steering torque accumulation control amount I int* as a compensation component to increase the assist force in accordance with accumulation of steering torque t. The accumulation control calculation unit (28) has a function as a judgment means to judge whether a direct advance is in progress. If the judgment means judges that the direct advance is in progress, the accumulation control calculation unit (28) outputs the steering torque accumulation control amount I int* to an adder (29). The current instruction value calculation unit (25) superposes the steering torque accumulation control amount I int* on a basic assist control amount I as* calculated by a basic assist control unit (27) and outputs the obtained value as a current instruction value Iq* corresponding to a target assist force, to an output unit (26).</p>
