<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new keratinocyte proliferation promotor having the keratinocyte proliferation-promoting activity capable of being utilized as an active ingredient of a hair-growing agent or hair tonic. <P>SOLUTION: This keratinocyte proliferation promotor composition comprises the keratinocyte proliferation promotor which is an extract of a plant belonging to the genus Alchornea of Euphorbiaceae, as an active ingredient. The keratinocyte proliferation promotor composition may contain one or more keratinocyte proliferation promotors, and one or more medicinally effective components selected from the group consisting of a skin-whitening agent, an antioxidant, an anti-inflammatory agent, a cell activator, a humectant and a peripheral vascular blood flow promotor.
