<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminate type battery for detecting the rise of internal pressure before releasing internal gas to the outside, without providing a pressure sensor and a distortion sensor. <P>SOLUTION: The laminate type battery 40 includes an electrode body consisting of a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate arranged via a separator, the electrode body being arranged in a storage space for a laminate package 6 having a welded portion where two laminate films 7 having resin layers on both sides of metal layers are welded at their peripheral edges to each other. On part of the welded portion 17, an internal gas pressure detecting part is formed where the inside resin layers of both laminate films do not exist and the metal layers contact each other to establish a conductive condition.
