PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispose a lifting operation lever for adjusting the height of a seat body so that it is prevented from being excessively noticeable. SOLUTION: The chair has a base 7 fixed at the upper end of a leg pole 6, and the seat body 2 disposed above the base. The seat body 2 overhangs to the right and left sides of the base 7, and the lower part of the overhanging part is covered with a seat cover 20 and a base cover 16. A driving member 23 for releasing the lock of the leg pole 6 has a front part 23d extending forward on the outer side of the base 7. The operation lever 22 is turnably connected by a spindle 30 on the inner part of the seat cover 20. A finger hook part 22a of the operation lever 22 is exposed to the outside from an opening hole 21, and the driving member 23 is turned when the operation lever 22 is turned.
