PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an organized graphite material capable of being highly dispersed in a solvent or a resin. SOLUTION: The method for producing an organized graphite material includes: a process for preparing a surface-oxidized graphite material by oxidizing a graphite material; a process for preparing an aqueous dispersion of the surface-oxidized graphite material, wherein pH is 2-10 and the dispersion particle diameters of the surface-oxidized graphite material are≤500μm, by dispersing the surface-oxidized graphite material into water; and a process for organizing the graphite material by ion-exchanging cation on the surface of the surface-oxidized graphite material with cation of a cationic organic compound by mixing the aqueous dispersion and the cationic organic compound.
