PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recorder which suppresses notches of an edge part of an image while not affected by heat accumulated in a thermal head, and also to provide a method of correcting heat accumulation, and a printed matter. SOLUTION: A control part 9 of a thermal printer 1 separates image data 3 input and stored in an image memory 23 of a storage part 7 into a solid image G3 and an edge image G2 by separation processing, and performs heat accumulation correcting processing on the images G2 and G3 individually to thereby obtain an edge image G4 on which heat accumulation correction has been performed and a solid image G5 on which heat accumulation correction has been performed, and composites the images G4 and G5 by compositing processing, whereby the notches of the edge part of an original image where a blank part exists in a solid part are suppressed, and an image of uniform density is obtained.
