MEMBRANE SEPARATION METHOD AND APPARATUS

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane separation method and an apparatus which can reduce deterioration of membrane separation performance by reducing adsorption of membrane contaminants contained in water to be treated to the membrane surface and clogging with a solid matter when the water to be treated is subjected to membrane separation treatment. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A particle consisting of a cationic polymer which swells in water and is not substantially dissolved in water and an inorganic coagulant are added to the water to be treated to subject the membrane contaminants to adsorption and coagulation treatment.
