The inverter (1) has an input-sided direct current/direct current converter (3) i.e. boost converter, and a network-guided, controlled static converter (4) with a commutation filter (5) and a downstream line filter for reducing static converter-sided produced harmonic current. A control device (6) controls a disconnectable power semiconductor circuit (42) by control signals (T1-T6) and detects present phase voltages (uR, uS, uT) of a power network (N). The downstream line filter is an active line filter (7') connected parallel to an output of the inverter.
