The disclosure is generally directed to ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers with minimized monomer present. Such polymers may be used in e.g. a vaginal ring, wherein when the ring is placed in a patient, said ring releases fewer vinyl acetate monomers as compared to a ring comprising a ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer that releases 300 µg/50mL or more of vinyl acetate monomers for at least one day when placed in a buffer solution comprising phosphate.
