<p>A process for the production of a self-reinforced plastics material is described. The process comprises forming a mixture of a first grade of a plastics material and a second grade of the plastics material. At least the second grade of plastics material is in the form of elongated elements. The first grade of material is selectively heatable, so that the mixturecan be treated such that the first grade of plastics material is fused to form a continuous phase. The elongated elements of the second grade of plastics material remain intact or substantially intact, and are dispersed in the continuous phase.</p> |
