<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the improvement of working efficiency, the energy saving by reducing a heat treatment time or the like and the reduction of manufacturing cost in a method for manufacturing a carbon-containing refractory for SN plate with an addition of metal Si. <P>SOLUTION: A carbon-containing refractory compact before heat treatment contains metal Si concurrently with one or plural kinds selected from the group consisting of specific transition metals of Ni, Fe, Co, Pt, and Rh and compounds of these specific transition metals, and subjected to a heat treatment in a nitrogen gas atmosphere with an oxygen concentration of 5-2,000 ppm, at the highest temperature of ≥1,000°C for total time of ≥10 hours. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
