<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for reducing a load on communication in a system which makes communication by using an SMNPv3. <P>SOLUTION: A management server 10 is connected to a plurality of printers 50 and 150 and a plurality of routers 160 and 170. The management server 10 transmits, by broadcasting, a search packet including a search engine ID 26 and search-time synchronization information 28. Each of the devices 50, 150, 160 and 170 transmits a response including types of the devices. The management server 10 identifies the printers 50 and 150 from contents of the received response. The management server 10 and the printer 50 (or 150) make requests for the engine ID, the time synchronization information and target data (for example, status information), and executes the response thereto by means of unicast communication. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
