<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data control device and a data control method which can reduce time and labor and costs. <P>SOLUTION: When collation data of a collation-data storing part 26a exceeds a predetermined capacity, a transfer part 24 transfers the collation data to a controller connected to the lower part. When confirmation of the content of the collation data to which a specific identification number has been assigned is requested, a collation part 23 checks whether or not the identification number is included in the maximum minimum value data 26d. When the identification number is included, the collation data of the identification number is taken from the collation-data storing part 26a, and its content is confirmed. On the other hand, when the identification number is not included, the collation part 23 makes a request of the controller connected to the lower part to confirm the content of the collation data of the identification number. Because of this, even when the amount of data is huge, it can be dealt with only by connecting an additional controller 2 without increasing the memory capacity of each controller 2.
