PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-situ purification method of contaminated ground or contaminated ground water which expedites the initiation time of decomposition of an organic halogen compound and which is capable of purifying the contaminated ground or contaminated ground water contaminated by an organic halogen compound for a long term and over a broad range.

SOLUTION: In the in-situ purification method of the contaminated ground or contaminated ground water for the in-situ purification by activating anaerobic microorganisms, which has decomposition activities of the organic halogen compound, living in the contaminated ground or contaminated ground water contaminated by the organic halogen compound. The method includes incorporating an optimal composite nutrition material by mixing an easily decomposable nutrition material with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol at a predetermined rate in accordance with the characteristics of the contaminated ground or contaminated ground water and activating the anaerobic microorganisms by supplying the composite nutrition material to the contaminated ground or contaminated ground water.
