PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-vehicle device including a security part which can be easily operated. SOLUTION: The in-vehicle device includes: a short-distance radio communication means 21 receiving an authentication code transmitted from a portable telephone device 30; a regular user authentication code storage means 22 storing an authentication code of a regular user of a car navigation device 10; an authentication code determination means 23 comparing the authentication code received by the short-distance radio communication means 21 with the authentication code of the regular user stored in the regular user authentication code storage means 22 to determine whether both the authentication codes agree with each other; and a security control means 24 starting the car navigation device 10 when the authentication code determination means 23 determines that both the authentication codes agree with each other.
