PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a new fluoroalkyl iodide telomer, by which the fluoroalkyl iodide telomere having a desired chain length can efficiently be obtained. SOLUTION: Provided is the method for producing the fluoroalkyl iodide telomer, comprising supplying a fluoroalkyl iodide represented by general formula: RfI (wherein, Rf is a 1C to 10C fluoroalkyl group) as a telogen and tetrafluoroethylene as a taxogen into a distiller, subjecting the supplied compounds to a telomerization reaction in the presence of a metal catalyst in a reaction portion placed in the middle portion of the distiller in a heated state to produce the fluoroalkyl iodide telomer represented by general formula: Rf(CF<SB>2</SB>CF<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>I [wherein, n is an integer of 1 to 4], and distilling off a fraction containing the fluoroalkyl iodide telomere.
