<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold for continuous casting which can cast a slab having excellent surface conditions without causing the roughening of a cast skin and the coarsening of a surface structure, or to provide a continuous casting method excellent in working efficiency. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The mold 1 is used for the continuous casting of a slab having long sides of ≥800 nm, and comprises: a mold body part 2 provided with an opening part 3; and a liner part 10 made of graphite and fixed to the inner circumferential face 4 of the opening part 3. The mold body part 2 comprises body bending parts KA1, KA2 for bending the inner circumferential face 4 at two or more places; and the liner part 10 comprises parted parts 11 parted to two or more parts. Each parted part 11 is composed of at least either bending parted parts 13, 14 provided with a liner bending part KB bending fixed faces 13A, 14A by one part or flat parted parts providing with flat fixed faces. The position to form a boundary of the parted parts or the liner bending part KB is allowed to correspond to the body bending parts KA1, KA2, and the parted parts 11 are fixed to the inner circumferential face 4.
