Disclosed is a composition for oral ingestion, which is useful for the prevention or treatment of hepatitis including NASH. Specifically disclosed is a composition for oral ingestion, which can be used for preventing or treating hepatitis and comprises spirulina as an active ingredient. The composition can be ingested orally to exhibit the prophylactic, ameliorating or therapeutic effect on NASH or the like which relies mainly on the radical scavenging activity of spirulina powder contained therein.
