<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for controlling a motor that decreases the moved distance by the inertia at power cut as much as possible by utilizing vector control, even when an electromagnetic contactor, etc. operates and the power supply to the motor is cut off. <P>SOLUTION: A motor controller includes control units 182 and 183 which control, respectively, a d-axis current, which is the d-axis component, and a q-axis current, which is the q-axis component of a motor current, being supplied from an inverter to the motor, according to a d-axis current command and a q-axis current command that are set corresponding to the operation of a target motor. Herein, when the power supply from an AC power supply 110 to a converter 130 is cut off, it supplies electric energy accumulated in a smoothing capacitor 122 to the inverter 140, and also it outputs a predetermined magnitude of d-axis current for emergency stop to the control unit 182 which controls the d-axis current, and applies a d-axis current to a linear motor 1 so as to urgently stop it. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
