<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide and an optical transmission device whose enlargement in breadthwise directions is suppressed by using a vertical cavity surface emitting laser diode emitting a plurality of identical signal light beams. <P>SOLUTION: Signal light emitted from a multi-spot VCSEL 20 is reflected by a slope shape 12A of a level difference 12 and is made incident on the inside of an optical waveguide 14, and the signal light is transmitted and is reflected by a slope shape 12A of a level difference 12 on the side of an output part 18 and is transmitted to a light receiving element 22. At this time, an input part 16 of the optical waveguide 14 is provided with a plurality of level differences 12 for one input node, and light spots of light emitted from an emission part 204 of the multi-spot VCSEL 20 are arrayed inclined to a breadthwise direction of the optical waveguide 14, and respective level differences 12 of the input part 16 are formed according to light spots of light emitted from the multi-spot VCSEL 20 to perform optical coupling. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
