<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excavator capable of preventing excavated sediment from reversely flowing into an air hammer device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This excavator comprises an air vent hole 23 allowing the inside and the outside of a hammer cylinder 18 to communicate with each other. A valve device 34 allowing a high pressure air to flow from the inside of the hammer cylinder 18 to the outside of a device 10 and stopping the inflow of the air and chips from the outside of the device 10 into the hammer cylinder 18.
