<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle lock device capable of reducing the number of components and its size. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Main driving members 21 and 22 are integrally rotated via a working gear 19 and a pin 29, which are driven by a driving motor. A driven member 23 is connected with circumferential play to the main driving members 21 and 22 via the pin 29, and an inhibition plate is raised/brought down along with the rotation of the driven member 23. Abutting portions 21d and 22d of the main driving members 21 and 22 abut on a lower end of a helical compression spring 25 which is housed in the storage hole 23e of the driven member 23. The inhibition plate is located at the midpoint between a rising position and a laid one, so that the axial line of the helical compression spring 25 can be directed in a vertical direction. The anticlockwise rotation of the main driving members 21 and 22 makes the inhibition plate raised by a resilient force of the helical compression spring 25. The clockwise rotation of the main driving members 21 and 22 makes the weight of the inhibition plate supported by the helical compression spring 25, and makes the inhibition plate brought down by the self-weight of the inhibition plate.
