<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video/audio output method capable of having a Dolby Volume effect on a device not equipped with Dolby Volume using both technologies of HDMI-CEC and Dolby Volume. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A video/audio output method includes a step of detecting a playback volume value set in an external speaker controller for controlling an external speaker, a step of calculating a decibel value corresponding to the detected playback volume value, a step of generating an audio signal corresponding to the calculated decibel value, and a step of outputting the generated audio signal to the external speaker controller, and, at the same time, a step of outputting a video based on a video signal corresponding to the audio signal.
