<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of cutting a shaped steel by a sawtooth with produced burrs minimized even after repeated shaped cutting. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to a method for cutting the shaped steel 10 comprising one of a H-section, an I-section, an angle and a channel by means of a circular sawtooth 14 driven to rotate while preventing cut burrs from occurring. Sacrifice plates 25, 26 and 28-31 are provided as a pair of the right and left on the sawtooth 14 on a part of the shaped steel 10 to be cut where the rotating sawtooth 14 travels to cut. In addition, gaps between the pairs of sacrifice plates 25 and 26, sacrifice plates 28 and 29, and sacrifice plates 30 and 31 are smaller than a thickness of the sawtooth 14, and the sacrifice plates 25, 26 and 28-31 are also cut when the shaped steel 10 is cut by the sawtooth 14. The sacrifice plates 25, 26 and 28-31 are provided via lateral movement mechanisms 38, and every time the shaped steel 10 is cut by the sawtooth 14, the mechanisms 38 are operated to control the positions of the sacrifice plates 25, 26 and 28-31 to also cut the sacrifice plates 25, 26 and 28-31.
