<p>In an elevator device, a car is lifted and lowered by hoists having respective hoist brakes. Each hoist brake has sufficient braking force allowing the hoist brake alone to stop the car. Brake control sections for controlling corresponding hoist brakes each have calculation sections. The calculation sections can detect their failure by comparing the results of their calculation with each other, and upon detecting a failure of a calculation section, a brake control section causes a corresponding hoist brake to perform braking operation.</p> |
