A device for capturing and killing flying pest insects is provided with a flat base body and an adhesive agent section provided on the base body and formed by applying an adhesive agent to the base body. The base body has first and second through-holes for allowing a hook member, which hooks the device in position, to pass therethrough, and also has a tongue formed by separating off one part of the base body by a cut line interconnecting the first and second through-holes. The tongue includes a connecting region for interconnecting the other part of the base body and the tongue through at least a part of a portion between the first and second through-holes, and also includes an extending section. The extending section extends from that portion of the connecting region which is near the first through-hole in the direction opposite the direction extending from the first through-hole toward the second through-hole and then extends in the opposite direction when viewed from a connected portion.
