<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid damage caused by a cleaning member caught by an end of a transmission member and also to prevent degradation in the ability of the cleaning member to clean the transmission member. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a photosensitive drum that bears a toner image thereon; an optical unit 3 disposed below the photosensitive drum and having a cover glass 31 through which light emitted toward the photosensitive drum passes; and a cleaning sheet 51 that cleans the surface of the cover glass 31 by moving in the direction of the rotation axis of the photoreceptor drum in contact with the surface of the cover glass 31. The image forming apparatus has a projecting portion 70 against which the end of the cover glass 31 abuts, which comes into contact with the surface of the cover glass 31 before the cleaning sheet 51 comes into contact with the surface of the cover glass at the time of cleaning, and is formed higher than the surface of the cover glass 31. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
