PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a fitted retardation plate not have large change in optical property even when a polarizing plate is placed under a high temperature and a dry condition.
SOLUTION: The polarizing plate is manufactured through the steps of: forming a cellulose acylate film from a cellulose acylate solution prepared by dissolving cellulose acylate in a solvent containing 0.003 to 0.1% by mass of water; subjecting the formed cellulose acylate film to a heat treatment for 0.5 to 200 hours at a temperature of 50 to 150°C and at a relative humidity of 0 to 10%; stretching the heat-treated cellulose acylate film at a longitudinal/lateral stretching ratio of 0.3 to 2; and stacking the retardation plate formed of the stretched cellulose acylate film, a first transparent protective film (the retardation plate may serve as the protective film), a moisture-proof layer, a linear polarizing film, and a second transparent protective film.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
