METHOD, DEVICE, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR PERFORMING HANDOVER BETWEEN BASE STATIONS OF COMMUNICATION NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a handover procedure in a system which is arranged so that each mobile terminal communicates with three or more base stations including one which plays a role of main base station and others which play a role of auxiliary base stations.

SOLUTION: Each mobile terminal communicates with a set of base stations including at least first and second base stations, wherein the first base station receives downlink data having a downlink sequence number being transmitted from an access gateway of a communication network to the first mobile terminal, transmits a handover request message HRQ including a requested downlink sequence number and information about the set of base stations to the second base station, and requests the second base station to receive data being transmitted to the first mobile terminal from the access gateway. When a data packet being transmitted to the first mobile terminal has a sequence number higher than the requested downlink sequence number, constitution of the data packet from data received from the access gateway is stopped.
