<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particulate filter for suppressing the condition of excessively raising the temperature of the particulate filter at its center side during regenerating treatment of the particulate filter while holding down pressure loss. <P>SOLUTION: The particulate filter 10 includes a filter body 8 formed with a plurality of filter segments F1, F2 which consist of a plurality of flow-in side cells having sealed downstream side end faces in the flowing direction of exhaust gas and a plurality of flow-out side cells having sealed upstream side end faces in the flowing direction of exhaust gas, and which are bonded to each other via a bonding material 7. The filter segment located on the center side of the particulate filter is formed so that the opening area of each of the flow-in side cells is almost equal to the opening area of each of the flow-out side cells. At least one filter segment located on the outer periphery side of the particulate filter is formed so that the opening area of each of the flow-in side cells is larger than the opening area of each of the flow-out side cells. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
