<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure reduced in pressure loss with the elapse of time, hardly producing cracks in the edge part on its outflow side during regeneration and excellent in durability. <P>SOLUTION: The honeycomb structure is configured so that the Young's modulus of a sealing part 7 in the edge part B on its outflow side is lower than that of the sealing part 7 in the edge part A on its inflow side, that is, the average cross-sectional area of the sealing part 7 on its outflow side is larger than that on its inflow side, the depth of the sealing part 7 on its outflow side is smaller than that on its inflow side and the porosity of the sealing part 7 on its outflow side is larger than that on its inflow side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
