<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for production of light-diffusing films, which is superior in productivity, by solving the problem that conventional production processes for light-diffusing films necessitate weaving the warp and weft together and therefore consume much time for making woven fabrics to result in low productivity. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A method for production of a light-diffusing film 10 comprising a plurality of short fibers 11 and a transparent resin 12 for binding the short fibers 11 to each other comprises a step (A) of converting the plurality of short fibers 11 into a prefilm by papermaking method and a step (B) of applying a coating fluid for forming the transparent resin 12 to at least one side of the prefilm and setting or curing the coating fluid to form the light-diffusing film 10.
