A modular control device (1) is proposed which comprises a support module arrangement (3) equipped with a control module arrangement (15). Additionally provided data carrier modules (42) allow data to be made available via the control modules (16). Each data carrier module (42) has a fastening section (43) that is fixed to the support module arrangement (3) as well as a data carrier section (45) which is pivotally mounted on the fastening section (43) with the help of hinge means (44). The data carrier section (45) is L-shaped and can be alternatively placed in an operational position embracing the control module arrangement (15) or in a position releasing the control module arrangement (15).
