The method comprises mounting a core for forming the cylinder hollow area by internal cooled barrel (10) in the wall of the casting mold before filling the light metal melt. For mounting the barrel, the barrel base (11) is stuck into axial and in a certain swivel in an opening (15) in the wall of the casting mould and is subsequently rotation locked through rotation. The rotation locking is carried out by bayonet structure (17, 18) formed on the barrel base and in the opening in the wall. A cool channel core (20) is mounted between the casting mold and a scapular of the barrel. The method comprises mounting a core for forming the cylinder hollow area by internal cooled barrel (10) in the wall of the casting mold before filling the light metal melt. For mounting the barrel, the barrel base (11) is stuck into axial and in a certain swivel in an opening (15) in the wall of the casting mould and is subsequently rotation locked through rotation. The rotation locking is carried out by bayonet structure (17, 18) formed on the barrel base and in the opening in the wall. A cool channel core (20) is mounted between the casting mold and a scapular of the barrel with mounting of the barrel. A base area of the cool channel core is inserted into a draught level in the wall and subsequently the barrel base is stuck into the opening in the wall under simultaneous security of the cool channel core. The barrel is neutralized after its mounting. Independent claims are included for: (1) arrangement for casting and die casting of cylindrical light metal cylinder housing; and (2) a casting mold for casting and die casting of cylindrical light metal cylinder housing.
