The component (6) has a body (5) e.g. tubing body (7) and wall body, that is to be damped with respect to oscillations of the body, where the body is arranged at or in the component in a spring-elastic manner. The body is firmly connected with a container (2) of a vibration damper (1) by a spring body, where the container comprises a bulk material (4) i.e. sand, made of solid bodies. The spring body comprises a constriction between the body and the container. The spring body is designed with a framework structure in a flat or tubular or rod-shaped manner. An independent claim is also included for a vibration damper of an exhaust system, comprising a container.
