<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding member or a slide receiving member, and its molding method capable of improving slidability of the sliding member or the slide receiving member, and restraining seizure of a surface of the sliding member or the slide receiving member. <P>SOLUTION: A DLC (diamond-like carbon) 50 is coated on its surface to mold a DLC layer 50a. In sliding members 4, 5 on the DLC layer 50a of which a recessed part 51 is molded, or a slide receiving member 6, which the sliding members 4, 5 contact, the recessed part 51 has a plurality of recessed parts 51a, on which the recessed part 51 continuously extends, and a crossing recessed part 51b crossing with the continuous recessed part 51a.
