PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic pump control system for a vehicle drive unit and a method for controlling a hydraulic pump device for the vehicle drive unit, ensuring the sufficient amount of hydraulic pressure delivered from a hydraulic pump regardless of the engine speed of a vehicle. SOLUTION: A trochoid pump 11 to which driving force of an engine 3 is input has an inner rotor stored in a pump body, and supplies hydraulic pressure to a transmission body 2 according to the rotational speed of the engine 3. A vane pump 13 operated by an electric motor 14 has a vane pump rotor stored in the pump body, and supplies hydraulic pressure to the transmission body 2 after sucking hydraulic fluid through a suction opening 112 shared with the trochoid pump 11. When the rotational speed of the engine 3 is lower than a switching point, the vane pump 13 is driven together with the trochoid pump 11. When the rotational speed of the engine 3 exceeds the switching point, the vane pump 13 is stopped and only the trochoid pump 11 is driven. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
