PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an independent steering device capable of easily mounting an actuator to the independent steering device. SOLUTION: The independent steering device 10 controls a steering angle of a wheel 18 by rotating a motor 38 provided in a housing 30 of the actuator 15, transmitting rotation of the motor 38 to a feed screw mechanism 43 and expanding/contracting the actuator 15 by feeding a female screw member 108 by rotation of the female screw member 107 of the feed screw mechanism 43 in an axial direction. The independent steering device 10 is provided with a position detection means 120. In the position detection means 120, a pattern 122 to be detected is provided on a second housing 33, and an optical type detection part 123 for detecting a reflection light of the pattern 122 to be detected is provided on an output rod 34.
