PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injection compression molding die and an injection compression molding method, by which a thin optical plate especially with a small internal stress at the portion near a gate can be formed when the thin optical plate is molded. SOLUTION: In the injection compression molding die 11 for the thin optical plate P, the molding of which is performed by injecting the molten resin into a cavity 14 formed between a fixed mold 13 and a movable mold 12 through a film gate P3 and by compressing the molten resin in the cavity 14. The molding die 11 is provided with the film gate P3 with a length L1 of≥80% of the length L2 of one side of the cavity 14 and a thickness thinner than that of the cavity 14, and a gate cutter 24 arranged at the film gate P3.
