PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a counting unit of a game machine which counts the number of balls a player customer has designated and discharges them even in the counting unit of a game machine which is transferred into a game island after the game balls are received from a lower saucer and their number is counted. SOLUTION: The counting unit of a game machine is provided with: a ball saucer for receiving game balls discharged from a lower saucer; a passage part for transferring the game balls received by a ball saucer to a game island; an input part for a player customer to input an arbitrary number of balls; a ball discharge part for discharging balls of the number of balls inputted by the input part to a ball saucer provided on a front side of a passage part; and a designated ball discharge part which has a sprocket which is rotation driven near a lower end of a tilt passage provided for the ball saucer with a declivity and transfers game balls one by one, a discharge counting sensor which is located near the sprocket and counts the number of game balls transferred by the sprocket, and a passage switch shutter for transferring the game balls whose number has been counted by the discharge counting sensor to the ball discharge port.
