<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage type multipurpose seat capable of easily adjusting the relative relationship of the characteristics between falling moment and elevating moment to act on a seat body, absorbing various variations of the mass or the like of the seat body, and appropriately and easily setting the respective characteristics of the falling moment and the elevating moment. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The storage type multipurpose seat 1 includes a torsion bar 46 which urges the seat body 11 in a rising direction so as to keep the storage position of the seat body 11, and a balance spring mechanism 51 which has nonlinear characteristics so as to urge the seat body 11 in the rising direction to suppress the tilting speed from the storage position to a using position of the seat body 11 and so as to lower the urging force at the using position of the seat body 11.
