<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve preferable brake control regardless of the whole weight of a vehicle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The bar handle vehicle brake controller determines a turning state of the vehicle based on a detection result of an acceleration sensor provided in the vehicle, and performs brake control of the vehicle. The brake controller inludes: a longitudinal acceleration obtaining means for obtaining longitudinal acceleration α<SB>long</SB>generated in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle; a lateral acceleration obtaining means for obtaining lateral acceleration α<SB>lat</SB>generated in the lateral direction of the vehicle based on the detection result of the acceleration sensor; a threshold setting means 26 for setting a threshold AF<SB>th</SB>for regulating the upper limit of the magnitude of the longitudinal acceleration α<SB>long</SB>generated by braking based on the lateral acceleration α<SB>lat</SB>obtained by the lateral acceleration obtaining means; and a braking force control means for controlling the braking force of the vehicle using the threshold AF<SB>th</SB>.
