<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic filing apparatus capable of saving procedures to designate a storing destination or to make input on the occasion of storing the other data in the storing destination used previously for data storage while preventing erroneous storing of data. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electronic filing apparatus (a digital composite machine 1, for example) has a holding means for holding the designated storing destination information and stores data in the storing destination (for example, external storage device 6) shown by the stored storing destination information. The digital composite machine 1 is provided with an identical storing destination use verifying means for requesting a user, to confirm whether to utilize the storing destination shown by the storing destination information stored in the holding means for the other data when data storage based on the storing destination information is completed. Accordingly, when use of the storing destination is verified with the identical storing destination use verifying means, this digital composite machine 1 holds the storing destination information in the holding means even after the above data is completely stored and continuously maintains the existing state to allow the other data to be stored in the same storing destination.
