The invention relates to an automatic device 10 for dosing reagents onto a plurality of microscope slides 50, comprising retaining devices for a plurality of microscope slides 50 that contain a plurality of recesses 52 offset from one another, said recesses being suitable for receiving cell or tissue samples 53, a dosing head 30 having a plurality of storage containers 31 suitable for receiving liquid reagents, and having a dosing valve 33 for dosing and applying the reagents onto the recesses 52 on the end/side facing the recesses  52, and a positioning device 14 for positioning the storage containers 31 of the dosing head 30 over the respective recesses 52 of the microscope slides 50.
