<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polishing apparatus for a trolley wire capable of securing a safety of a work, by performing a polishing work of a trolley wire of a ceiling crane in a short time period and eliminating a work at a high place. <P>SOLUTION: A pair of cable pulleys 2a, 2b for engaging with a trolley wire T, being a polishing object, and a pair of wire brushes 3a, 3b are arranged in a frame 4. A cable pulley 2a is rotated by a traveling motor 7, and the wire brushes 3a, 3b are rotated by a wire brush rotation motor 8. The wire brushes 3a, 3b are pressed against a contact surface of the trolley wire T by a resilience of a twisting coil spring 11 (FIG. 4), to thereby suspend a polishing apparatus 1 by the trolley wire T in a state of sandwiching the trolley wire T between the cable pulleys 2a, 2b, and the wire brushes 3a, 3b. If the traveling motor 7 is rotated, polishing apparatus 1 is moved on the trolley wire T, to thereby polish the contact surface by the wire brushes 3a, 3b.
